Fantastic food and even better caipirinhas with the best sunset view in Buzios. The shrimp moqueca was the best we have had all over Brazil, and the servers fished it out personally at the table to ensure we mixed the flavors just right. The generous and affordable capirinhas were served with a beautiful garnish ahat was itself a work of art. If you love food and aesthetics, this place is for you. Highly recommended.

We visited Bar dos Pescadores at around 3pm on a Monday, and that meant the restaurant was relatively empty (by the time we left there were more tables occupied). The restaurant is in a nice spot, right by the beach, and it has outside sitting, which means you can have a meal right by the sea. There's paid parking right outside and public transport stops nearby. The menu is varied, but the main focus is seafood, which they do really well. They have a nice bevarage selection from soft drinks to beer and spirits. I am unsure on whether wine is available. We had Casquinha de Siri (similar to a crab cone) for starters - it is made with Dende oil, which gives it a lovely and very distinctive taste, and served with cheese on top. For mains we shared a Moqueca de Namorado e Camarão (Namorado Sandperch and Prawns stew). Portion sizes for both starter and mains were generous - there were three of us and we could not finish the Moqueca, which is meant for 2 people. The dish is served with rice, pirão (simmilar to a fish gravy) and farofa (seasoned cassava flour). Its important to state that the Moqueca served at this restaurant is the Moqueca Capixaba (which does not contain Dende Oil). However, when we posed the question, the waiter did offer to request for a Moqueca Bahiana (with Dende Oil) to be made instead, but we did not take him up on the offer. I am unsure whether this is something they always do or if that was offered because the kitchen was not too busy. The service was fast and waiters were friendly and attentive. They volunteered information when it was pertinent but were not intrusive. I also felt the pricing was fair for the portion sizes, atmosphere and food quality. I will be recommending to friends and will be returning next time I'm in Buzios.
