Acqua World - Dive Operator and Scuba School

I agree with other posts. This dive shop is not set up for certified divers but I am sure can provide baptism divers with a good experience. My friend and I who are both certified divers did not receive what we signed up for. We were told we would get an English instructor and two dives at two different locations. The boat was very chaotic and disorganized. No one spoke English and we didn’t even know who was our instructor until just before we jumped into the water since there was no presentation regarding the dive spot or dive. I live in Brazil and know a little Portuguese so they expected me to translate everything for my friend which I could not. During the dive, the instructor was more interested in showing us how he could blow bubbles rather than point out marine life. We were told we would be doing the second dive at the same location in the same direction but just swim further past and the boat would pick us up. My friend opted out understandably. Another thing to note is that our instructor used two wetsuits. We realized why when entering the water and it was freezing! Aqua World uses very thin wet suits. We decided to dive with a different dive shop the following day which had much better equipment and over all attention with their customers. I did not feel comfortable diving with Aqua World and would not recommend this dive shop.

Good dive but I haven't been able to get the photos that were taken. In the days following the dive they were never uploaded. Multiple emails that I have sent have gone unanswered and they never pickup the phone when I call. I will give a proper rating once I get access to the photos

The diving was nice minus They take you to a part That you can't see that much fish and corals The photos is taking with simple gopro and it looks sucks And it's not more then 20 min diving

WORST DIVE CENTRE I'VE EXPERIENCED SO FAR!!! LACK OF CARE AND ATTENTION, VERY SAD.... So many negatives. I DO NOT recommend this dive centre for certified divers. My wife and I are PADI certified and we booked the day before our dives after walking around a few dive shops in the town. We do not speak Portuguese but the girl at reception was helpful and used Google translate. We had to go back later in the day to speak with someone in English. It even says on the door they speak English (See photos). We were told a few things the day before diving that did not happen. We were told we would go to 2 different dive sites, we only went to one and did 2 dives there. Anyone certified knows this is disappointing as you want to experience different sites when diving somewhere new. I'm quite sure we were told we would get 1 free photo in the water which did not happen. I'm not 100% certain on that. The staff in the shop were nice enough and as helpful as they could be. We decided to book as there were 7 others confirmed for the next day. When we arrived at the boat there was about 20 people or so, very busy. Only 3 of,us were certified and there to do a fun dive. The rest were doing a discovery dive (baptism dive as they call it here). Thats all they seemed bothered about. We didn't meet the Dive Master until we were on the boat which is unusual. Our Dive Master (DM) was Felipe, a nice guy but not a great DM. There was no interest in us, no rapport at all, he only talked to us when we spoke to him. No discussion, not much info on the area or dive site, pretty poor really. We went in first before the baptism dives, only a shallow dive up to 8 or 9 metres roughly, just went 1 direction until 1 of us had 100 left in the tank and turned around to go back, surfacing before we got down to 50, which is a lot for such a shallow dive. Some parts we were about 4 metres below surface, we could have seen the same snorkelling really. There was a 25-30 minute gap until our 2nd dive, same place just went in the opposite direction seeing the same things. Back on the boat not much interaction with the DM. We even had to ask for the sandwich for lunch that was to be provided because they went very forthcoming with it, only to be,told they had put them out while we were diving and we missed them?? One of the guys eventually made us a sandwich each before we got off the boat at the harbour. Pretty much abandoned at that point with no follow up or contact with anyone else. The DM didn't even offer any information of help to fill in the dive log book. Poor service, poor communication, just bothered about the baptism divers and trying to get people to do courses with them.

Can highly recommend Chris and his stuff. I made my advanced diver with them. Loved the experience.
