Paraty Explorer

We had a great day of paddling in the bay with Michael. We did a 4-5 hour tour and visited some beautiful beaches and islands not too far from the city, and passed through a crab filled mangrove on the way back. The kayaks were top quality, and really glided through the water, much better than the standard models available to rent on the beach. The tour was really professional as well but without feeling like a tour. Michael always asked the group what they wanted to do, and gave us many options so it was was real nice and laid back. He also knows a lot about the local fauna and was able to name all the birds and other creatures we encountered along the way. He also had some great stories about Paraty and the local legends. If you want to discover what Harry Potter and a little secluded beach have in common, then Michael is your guy! Definitely a highlight in Paraty. (Went in March 2020)

We did the kayak tour with Michael and Nil. They were both very nice, professional and willing to give good explanations about the nature surrounding us. We had an awesome kayaking experience with Paraty Explorer. My boyfriend, my mom and me did the 3 day trip to Mamangua which we can definitely recommend. Michael was a great guide and my mom always felt safe with him in a kayak. The room where we stayed overnight was a lovely house owned by a local family. Michael goes to different restaurants each time to spread the money at local places. I really liked his passion for the country and the people. It was on of my favorite trips in Brasil. We had a fantastic day kayaking around the bay and it's stunning Islands. The company provided all the equipment which was in great conditiin and our guide, Micheal, who was extremely knowledgeable. On the trip we were taken to some amazing places and swam on a beautiful island before paddling g off to a local beachside restaurant to sample some freshly caught fish. On the way back we also took in the mangroves and all its residents which was a great end to a wonderful day. Both of us are not seasoned kayakers and Micheal kept the pace just right so we could enjoy everything the tour had to give. We would highly recommend Paraty Explorer to anyone wanting to see the bay of Paraty in a kayak.

Great half-day kayaking-trip, very knowledgebale guides, very good equipment. We learnt a lot about the region. I can highly recommend Paraty Explorer for trips around Paraty Bay.
