Casa Coupê Restaurante

Had a simple lunch here. Very friendly staff, English menu available. Chicken salad has tried shredded potato, worked well and overall delicious. Decent value. Has a Cuban bar feel to it, worth dropping in.

Atmosphere is nice, both in- and outside, live music a little off-key, maybe slightly too much artistic freedom with the interpretations of the songs, and just a little too loud. Service started out well, but they don’t seem to understand the concept of assigning “areas” to servers - so that they can be attentive to a small set of tables instead of being chaotic and inconsistent- but hey, this is Brazil. So in the end I was ignored quite a bit. The food... let me preface by saying I have a bad cold and don’t taste much. Sadly, this did not mask the bone-dry chicken I was served, nor was I able to ignore the massive amounts of sugar in the “cappuccino”, which was really just a regular coffee with cream milk. I’m sure there are better places in Paraty to go to.

Ordinary nice food, ok service, nice atmosphere but charge a bit much, like a tax for tourism, a tax for live music, and 10% for only god knows what... (total of 40 R$ in extra random things we were not aware of)

Great location and for prices. The food was tasty but nowhere near the quality of top restaurants. The only two drawbacks were 1- the fact only one waiter spoke English, he spoke it well though, and there were a lot of kids running around town and through the outside tables. I'd go back.

They took one hour to bring one simple dish. The staff was not very friendly either
