I had an incredible time during my stay at the Carpe Diem Hostel. I met some amazing people that became my friends since I am new to Brazil, and they took great care of me by providing me with city tours, which was phenomenal and very instructive and informative. I would like to thank Leo for taking such great care of me and becoming a great friend to me now. Any time I go back to Paraty without any questions I will be staying at the Carpe Diem Hostel. The room was very clean, the pool was incredible, and the people staying at the Hostel were very friendly.

Wifi not working. Charged us to store our bags on day of departure. Breakfast unimpressive. Some staff clueless, sending us to a tourist info in town which was closed on the weekends. Other staff helpful, helping us cut through a broken lock.

Nice place and very friendly stuff at the reception. Location is great, close to city centre and supermarkets.

The atmosphere here was excellent! The staff and the owner are super nice and will help you with everything you need. The facilities are great, very nice pool, all day air-conditioning and a good kitchen. Great location, just a 3 minutes walk from the bus station, 10 minutes from the center of the city.

The kitchen is very dirty and not organized at all. Some electric sockets are broken and can be very dangerous. Room was quite clean but no soap to wash hands. Bed metress was ok. It seems that there's no serious organization or someone who takes care of maintenance of simple and more complicated things there. The pool is nice. Location is great. But still.. Poor value for money. I changed hostel after one night. Wouldn't recommend to stay there, other hostels in Paraty gives better value for the same or less money.
