Morro da Urca

This is the best place to go by free! First you can walk on the good hidden road about 1250 meters - there you can see Brazilian flora and monkeys. Then you can turn left and go up to the mountain. The way is little bit hard, but a lot of people with kids use it. Way around 40 min to up and 20 down. Up is windy and cool, beautiful views, lot of food and drinks, also Hawaiian store of shoes, good prices and nice souvenir to bring. There also funicular to the Sugar Loaf, price in February 2020 - 62 per person (too expensive) My advice to go there to get wonderful view to Rio and make beautiful pics, no need to go to Sugar Loaf, it's almost the same

Amazing stop before getting the top of Sugar Loaf. In this place you can find stores, restaurants, restrooms and of course sensational views.

Definitely something too see being from the midwest
