Hotel Atlantico Tower

The price is right. Of course you'll find better hotels in Rio but not for this price. Here's the pro and cons: Positive - It's located in the heart of downtown, just a couple of blocks from some of the best museums in Rio; - It's like 5 blocks from subway and half block from the light rail station; - It has lots of restaurants and bars around (don't expect fanciness though); -The building is not old and it seems it had some renovation just a couple of years ago; - The rooms and bathrooms still look new and are very clean; - Mattresses and linen are compatible with the price; - It has a pool with a bar and a nice view on the top. Too bad the water is not always clean. Negative - After business hours, the area requires some precaution (it ain't terrible, but I would not recommend women walking alone there after 8pm); - The reception is short staffed and both times I was there I had to wait like 10 min to be seen; - Breakfast is not that great... But still fair for the price though; - Some of the AC are too old and won't cool the whole room; - The water might not be warm enough if you decide to shower between 5-9pm;

A disappointment. Old facilities, smell in the room, small swimming pool and a heavily used bed and pillows. Only a good breakfast. Not worthy

I write this critic before even seeing the room because the system of the hotel crushed and the staff didnt even give us our room. We are still waiting to reboot their system and be able to pay them in order to give us our room. I will get back to this critic after my visit has ended. I am very dissapointed so far

Continuing my critic, regarding the breakfast, it was poor, non tasteful and had finish by the time we came to eat. And they didn't bother to fill it up. Guys are you serious that you know your job. It would be a great idea to close this edificio once and for all. Thank you for this painful stay

Very good service and helpful staff except the fact that they don't keep any notice or message in the room or the rate card for items which can be used. We had to pay a bomb for using water bottle in the room for 7 days and that too we came to know at the end of the stay. There should be properly information About this in the room.
