Rio & Learn Portuguese School

Living in Rio de Janeiro and learning Portuguese has been a dream of mine for a long time. It's really special when people get to realize their dreams, and I want to say THANK YOU to Rio & Learn for helping turn my dream into reality! If you're reading this review and you have a similar dream or goals to learn Portuguese, I strongly recommend going with them. There are so many wonderful things to say but I will only mention a few. First, the staff and the teachers are amazing and friendly and they go out of their way to make sure you are accommodated and getting the most out of your time there. One specific example - one of the teachers accompanied me to the police station to help me file a police report. Second, their approach to teaching Portuguese is great because the material is practical and the method is hands-on and based on practice. From the moment you set foot in the school everything is in Portuguese. At first it seems challenging but very quickly you'll be understanding and speaking. Finally, the Rio Live activities were the highlight of my time in there. "Rio Live" is basically like a field trip where the teachers take you to many different places in Rio de Janeiro and nearby areas. I had been to Rio three times prior and I got to know more about the city and visited more places this time thanks to Rio Live. After one month I felt like a real "Carioca!" Highly recommended! Thanks guys!

One of the best schools I’ve came across in Rio! Although I only took a one week(3h) a day class, I truly enjoyed it.

I have been doing the online group courses everyday for about 2 months now and I highly recommend. The price is the best I could find and the quality of the classes exceeds expectations. We usually go through 1 or 2 lessons per class so it does not feel too overwhelming and you have time to assimilate the new knowledge. It's based on conversation and examples so you practice a lot during the class. Plus, it's really fun, I really enjoy logging in to the class because I know I'm going to have a good time.

I Have been studying with Rio & Learn for a while now. It has been an excellent experience, the classes are very dynamic, flexible, good materials, excellent professors and a lot of fun . I've mostly been studying in a group with Diogo. He's a great professor who makes the classes interesting a so much fun!

Rio and Learn is my favorite Portuguese school for foreigners in Rio. The teachers and staff are personable, the lessons are interesting and the activities lend themselves to learning both the language and the carioca culture. Learning there felt fun instead of like a chore. Uma nota 10 para eles😊
