It worth the hassle. We took the tram and I suggest you book in advance online. Ticket is for 65 rias if you book online. We took the 8:20 am tram before it gets too crowded. You can the vans for 65 rias which is about the same but the tram is a much better ride.

A must visit in the life...so Tall and Big Idol of Christ visible from all corners of Rio City looking like Christ bestowing blessings upon the people of Rio....the highest place, the wonderful train journey taking to such heights, an elevator for the last stretch, a small church within the Base there, where marriage ceremonies allowed....the cool weather, the silent breeze, but the huge crowds, altogether a wonderful experience.....
