Casa das Canoas Oscar Niemeyer

Gorgeous house the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer designed and lived in for some years. Currently closed for work until mid/late April 2019, though can be visited and be seen/ photographed from main road. Utterly hopeless foundation site, simply unable to indicate any decent reliable information regarding opening hours etc. They desperately need to get their act together or fire their present staff.

Amazing house of Oscar Niemeyer which is still closed for renovation (now they paint walls in white), but the everything is overgrown, the fence is broken, but visible from the road. The house of the architect Oscar Niemeyer is still closed for restoration, but it looks like work is underway, someone is painting something, but everything is overgrown, the fence is broken in places, and in general the famous roof is visible from the Estrada das Canoas road. There is a stream nearby and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

As they say in many notebooks, it is not organized as a museum, its state is deteriorating from the fencing of the property and almost abandoned. The sector is safe during the day and in good weather you can walk almost ascent for 30 min along the road from the bus stop without paying a taxi, you have to be careful not to pass because it is not indicated anywhere. But it is worth trying to see it is Oscar's masterpiece. the best and smooth location of a project in an immediate natural context that comes alive every day to consume the work. I recommend identifying it by google maps before going to recognize where to stop and be able to observe it.
