Duna Paraíso

This is one of the few places I want to visit again. First, it's apparent that the owners have worked hard to keep their property in good condition. The staff are all well trained and have been with the owners for years; they're polite, well informed and just nice to be around. The property itself always looks groomed for a photo shoot, from the sparkly, clean pool to the carefully pruned hedges that give each bungalow veranda more privacy. Second, see my review on "Alto da Serra:" Duna Paraiso has soap in the bathrooms, among other things. I got to replenish my emergency soap from our Alto da Serra "camping trip" from the previous weekend. Not a big ask, but it became important when Alto da Serra didn't treat it as important. Third, the breakfast was amazing - homemade bread and jam, and a good spread of fruit, grilled sandwiches, caramelized bananas, etc... I don't eat breakfast normally, but I didn't want to SKIP breakfast there. Instead, I skipped lunch. Seriously, arrive hungry. Two things I didn't like: 1) we didn't get to see the ocean from our bungalow; we had to walk about 6 feet to see the ocean. Still, we could hear the ocean when we slept, which was super relaxing for us. 2) the WiFi for my phone (Android) didn't reach the family bungalow well, but it worked without a hitch for our tablets, my partner's iPhone and laptop (1st world problems, I know). Lastly, people in other reviews have complained about the owner being "antipatico" or mean. My partner is Brazilian and we talked about this. We met the owners. I don't think they're mean; they're just Italian. It was a bigger cultural difference for my partner than it was for me. I liked them, and their property.
