Erected in 1866 by the architect Zéphirin Perreault, the Batiscan church is a real gem of neo-Gothic architecture: the height of the choir and the nave, the ogival vault, as well as all the very exuberant decorations that s '' find evidence of this. It is also one of the oldest churches in Quebec whose decoration, of molded plaster, still exists in its original state. In 1967, the Batiscan church entrusted its most beautiful treasures to the National Museum of Fine Arts to protect them from theft and fire. After 42 years of storage in the Museum reserve, these works are now back in Batiscan and now accessible to the public.
