I've had great service with Canadian tire sylvan lake. Notably today, with Olivia from customer service who assisted me with putting aside an online purchase, normally they don't do that until the following business day however, I was upset because I didn't want my sale item that I'd purchased to get bought by someone else. Since there was only 1 left. She worked it out so a staff member put my order aside and I am grateful she went out of her way to provide great customer service around the holidays.
I've been going to Canadian Tire regularly for years like most people, and I've never had a negative experience that I can remember. They've got pretty much everything, and the prices are usually decent, sometimes really good if it's on sale. Definitely keep an eye on their sales. Sometimes the "regular price" listed on a sale item is just a huge made up number to make you think you're getting a better deal than you are, but whatever. Their return policy seems to be good, but I've rarely needed it.
No matter what location you go to, waiting for help at the automotive counter can take a while, but they're usually just busy helping someone else. Generally throughout the store, staff are easy to find and quick to help.
I haven't dealt with the mechanic shop side of Canadian Tire, but I think your experience there will vary somewhat between locations and mechanics.
Overall, CT is a very handy store, and I'll continue as a regular customer.
The faucet was good quality and a great price, so I thank you guys for that, but... In-store pickup during pandemic is not a good experience. I paid for a faucet online and opted for the in-store pickup instead of delivery. I waited for the email confirming the faucet was ready (it wasn't ready until noon the next day.) The email instructed me to go in the store and pick up from customer service. To do this I had to wait in line of about 10 people. When I got to the desk, they had to call the back and get it brought up. When it was brought to the front, I had to sign for it (wasn't fond of touching a pen, defeats the purpose of everything right now). They handed me the bag and I walked like 15 feet through the exit door where the theft alarm went off. Then 2 employees insisted on looking though the bag and making me walk back though the theft system (neither wearing masks and the one wasn't social distancing from me). All that happened was they didn't scan the item because I prepaid, causing the alarm to go off. I know things are different nowadays and I wasn't expecting a seamless experience, but safety should be the top concern. I make sure to practice social distancing, please ensure your employees do.
Good store! The only thing I did not like is the workers at the store don’t take distancing from each other’s or clients? It look’s one of the manager with tattoos on one harm don’t show a example if he is a manager. Perfect area for spreading the virus if comes around.
Great place for water jug refills, pet supplies, bikes, and plants....or at least that's what I've bought lately. You usually never have to stand too long in line but it is difficult sometimes to find help. Oh and they're pet friendly! Good store for your typical Can Tire needs.
Edit: The new manager needs a customer service course and common etiquette/social grace refresher. Unfortunately we were treated very rudely in front of other customers on the weekend while inquiring about tires. We would never treat a customer or staff the way he did us. Please remind yourself sir that you are new to our community and as such should be trying to gain the community's business not drive it away.
