I love worshipping at this church. Peaceful atmosphere, beautiful music. Since this is a church without clergy, all are seen as equals. The Bible, along with the textbook by church founder Mary Baker Eddy entitled Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "minister" to members in a way I find really meaningful and helpful. Science and Health makes the Bible come alive for me, and helps me apply its profound lessons.

When I attend the Wednesday testimony meetings at this church, I always feel calmed, strengthened and inspired with renewed inspiration to help me go forward with the rest of my week. The main message I get from these meetings is God's constant love and care for me and for all. These mid-week meetings of calm spiritual fellowship provide a chance to share together how we are finding healing solutions to life’s difficulties like sickness, financial, employment and relationship problems through learning about Christian Science and its unique approach to prayer. And I love how the whole service is framed in music: quiet and contemplative at the beginning, joyous at the closing, with the congregation singing several hymns together through the service, each including comforting and healing messages around the spiritual theme selected for the meeting.

If you want to experience the level of pain Jesus suffered upon the cross, just attend one of these services. Boring and uninspiring, to say the least. Not one, but TWO people stand in front of the congregation and read church founder Mary Baker Eddy's books and cross reference Bible verses that don't, in my opinion, actually "cross reference". Nice clean church, pleasant people, boring/uninspiring presentation with boring & arrogant philosophy. Blah!

I enjoyed my visits to First Church. The members of this church are very welcoming and anxious to share with the world what they need most: kindness, compassion, peace, joy and hope.
