My boy started his first year at Zig Zag in September 2017 and this was the beginning of a series of problems! In 3 months, he had to adapt to the rotation of 3 different teachers, which is not ideal to create a good relationship of attachment between the child and his educator ... The Spanish classes for which we pay have been suspended for almost 3 months without anyone being asked to warn us or to apologize. We have never received any compensation at this level, either in reimbursement or catch-up courses. Communication with parents regarding certain topics is deficient or completely non-existent. It is also difficult to track information received in part by email, in part by memo in the agenda or from the mouth of our child. The information is never complete, even completely contradictory. The school does not follow the recommendations of Health Canada or the CLSC regarding healthy eating; it has preferred to establish its own list prohibiting certain nutritious foods, while other unhealthy foods are encouraged. For example, the Administration strongly encourages pretzels (The best possible snack for his child, I was told!). Any form of biscuit or muffin is prohibited: they are home-cooked, sugar-free, enriched with iron or protein ... re-fu-sés. On the other hand, crackers and potato chips stuffed with salt or dyes are welcome. The judgment of the parents has no place and, despite a list of ingredients and a nutrition label favorable to a food, confiscate the snack of my child deemed "junkfood" to replace it with a bag of crackers accompanied by a $ 2 bill. In addition, it is strictly forbidden for children to quench their thirst with water fountains (drinking troughs) and the filling of a personal water bottle is not always accepted. When I phoned to discuss forbidden / authorized foods, I was recommended to introduce myself to the parents' committee, because it is at this meeting that we discuss topics that matter to us and that we can propose Changes. I did go to the parents' committee, but I was quickly told that this meeting was not meant to make any changes whatsoever. No constructive discussion or debate is possible at this point; Parents' committee meetings are used exclusively to review past activities and to "bridle" about the school's successes. The Administration has told me that it is the only one to take decisions and that the opinion of parents, purely consultative, is not always taken into consideration. Some members of the management answer us in a haughty way and do not hesitate to disguise some of the facts to improve the image of the school. I was deliberately lied to on certain subjects, I got "taken for a suitcase" on several occasions. In conclusion, I would like to thank the various professors for their true dedication; they do their best for the well-being and fulfillment of our children despite all the constraints brought by the management. I was satisfied with the pedagogical approach of teachers; but the condescension of management has strongly motivated us not to try the experience one more year.
