Wah Lai Yuen Bakery + Restaurant 華麗園

This is a great bakery and restaurant. They have big portions and great price points, but ultimately, the food is delicious and consistent. One of my favorite dishes is the duck lettuce wrap! It’s only an appetizer but it can be a whole meal, that’s how filling and delicious it is.

Come for the soups, you won't be disappointed!! Don't expect English speakers though... Still has amazing wonton soup, asked for a small bowl each for an appetizer, received a large bowl for $7 each, not the usual small bowl that every other Chinese restaurant serves for an appetizer that we were hoping for. If we'd known and really wanted soup we would have preferred to share a wor won ton. We didn't want to fill up before the main, and would have taken the extra home, but the waitress didn't ask just took it while mumbling something unintelligible, we though it must be "let me wrap this up" since they were both half full, but she dumped it before we could stop her. I hate to waste food 😨 The spring rolls and breaded almond chicken were delicious though! We were disappointed in the "chef special beef chow mein" for $17, we thought it would be regular chow mein with $4 more meat veg etc in it but nope, it was actually crispy deep fried noodles (which we never would have ordered), with sparse beef and peppers in a sauce like beef and broccoli comes in, served on top. I only ever come here for the soups, spring rolls and crispy pork so I'll just stick to that from now on! Can't go wrong there! 😍😋 PS I did have the shrimp foo young and the duck lettuce wraps once years ago and they were both super delicious! 😋

Ordered here after reading the good reviews. Food was deplorable, chow mein was very greasy with a off taste, sweet and sour sauce tasted like sweet seafood sauce.I am done with chinese restaurants.

Good place in town for BBQ port buns with meat (not fatty or chewy bits) and honey glazed BBQ pork.

Food/service/ price was awesome! Been going there for 25 years and it keeps getting better!
