George Jay Elementary

I've been to this school since 2010 and i can tell you there is a lot of good staff, education is AMAZING. A few people can be rude but other than that, Great school! I Recommend this school for your child.

George Jay elementary is a school like no other. Perhaps it’s the uniquely vast diversity of cultures or is it the highly experienced staff members starting from the maintenance person right up to the principal Ms. Smith or is it the children who often start wide eyed at the beginning of their school life. Sadly not wide eyed from the eagerness of learning but from fear. For many it's their first time away from their primary caregiver or it’s their first day in a Canadian school or it’s their first day away from an unhealthy and uncertain home, wondering what other scary and uncertainty awaits them in this big and new home away from home. At the end of their first year these children are vastly different as they finally feel seen and acknowledged of their very short existence. For each child right along with the family is welcomed, embraced and respected many for the very first time in their lives. This is what awaits you at George Jay elementary if you are willing to let them in. I gave them 4/5 stars simply becasuse they are still working at getting the place more wheelchair accessible not only for students but for their staff as well. It’s a start.

One of the worst schools ever didn’t teach me anything I still don’t know what division is and I’m in grade 8. Whenever someone one asks me where’s I went for elementary I say this school and they all say oh I feel bad for you or that explains a lot. All of the teachers are rude not to mention the principal she is just too extra I wish I never went to this school it is the worst in Victoria I do not recommend plus it is in a bad area people would used to sell drugs in the back of the school (not students) and there was a guy called the lighter/flasher he used to come to the school somedays and flash people. 1000 present don’t recommend.

Best school for kids if you have a kid entering kindergarten to garde 5 this is the best school
