Southland Church

A large church granted, but with a small church feel for certain! I love Southland and was extremely skeptical at first because I'm not a fan of mega churches personally, but I was encouraged by a friend to check it out. I took the advice of an old pastor giving it the 6-10 rule. Try attending 6-10 times to really get a feel for it and see if it's the church for you. After attending five times, I brought my parents along as I value their opinion greatly. They said that they also found the messages to be scripturally accurate with no tricks or twists and the general atmosphere large but with a family or "small church" feel. Many of the negative reviews that I've read have a lot to do with "security cameras" and why the church has to have them. I will gladly answer that with a logical question of "why could your home do with a security camera or two?" With a large home, school or building that you naturally want to protect against vandalism, thieves etc. you would logically put up security cameras. With any large building, home, school or church there is certainly more of a risk for vandalism. Naturally the cameras are there for safety just like they would be in a home. I personally don't think that this should be the deal breaker of a church review. Rather, tune into the message, the staff, the environment, the way it's run. It's certainly not going to be perfect and that shouldn't be the expectation of ANY church or religious institute. Why? Because it's run by people and there is not one perfect person living on earth in the present. Every church will make mistakes, work to improve and still won't get it right. Because of this fact, I'm giving Southland five-star review. Five stars not because Southland is perfect, but because they are doing the best they can allowing God to take the church and run it the way he wants to run it. The staff do this by listening in prayer, studying scripture and consistently work on their character as they humble themselves daily. This is all people can do to allow the church to run well and obviously other people are noticing which is why it's as large as it is today. Way to go Southland for allowing God to do his work through you!

This place is so amazing. From newborn to seniors ministry there is something for everyone.

The messages are legite and so good!

I have been to many churches. Including overseas where I am originally from. But Southland Church has become my home church. They have amazing programs and help available. The people are extremely welcoming and helpful. As a single mother they have been there for me and have supported me. They listen and pray. Truly a church where you can feel the presence of Jesus.

This church supost to be my home church. Tell I get panic attacks just thinking about attending and when I do I'm scared to go into the church because of some people. I been treated unfairly by some of the church people and by some of the staff. I'm only able to be involved with the church if I live my life according to them and when I attend to church edvents I have to do as they say. I been misunderstood, from lack of support to no support from staff and treats have came from them. I was trying to help a person see, that the person deserved better. As the person whome I tried to help and a different person were emotionally hurting me very badly to a point it destroyed my life. They got all the support and I was blamed as if I'm a bad person. They support and protect these people who have done wrong and if a different person done the same thing they got kicked out. Those that done wrong can serve God. Were as a different person who wants to serve God can't because those on staff don't give any attention, support, help them, or allow them to do what they feel and sense to do. There are amazing people with in the church and those on staff need to check themselves before threatening innocent people who want to do what's right. This church could help people to grow in life and faith instead they chose to close the doors on people. That hurts me a lot and I feel sorry for those that could be saved spiritual and in life.
