I have been so impressed with how HGA has stayed in contact with their clients during the recent covid situation. They went above and beyond and emailed updates on government relief programs for small businesses. Although many of their staff worked from home there were still some at the office and when I dropped off some of my files I felt very safe with the processes they had put in place to deal with clients coming in. Over the past 20 years I've had different accounting firms and I have never had one as caring as HGA. They really make their clients feel valued and I feel what they've done over the past 2 months has been exceptional. A special thanks to the ones I've had dealings with: Darlene, Judith, Natalie, Allie and Quentin. I would highly recommend this firm for your accounting needs!

Our business has been with the HGA team for five years now and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It really makes a difference for us when we can come in and be greeted with enthusiasm and even our favourite coffee order!  Between the expert staff that handles our file to the sense of family that we feel when we walk through the door, we are always so impressed by the entire HGA Group. We would highly recommend HGA to anyone looking for an accountant (and other professional services) that will really care not only about your business, but your family too. The team at HGA are very professional, knowledgeable, and in my case patient. Everything they do for me is always done correctly which is important for your Accounting team (Quentin, Kara, and Olia), Lawyer (Jason) and Insurance Advisor (Chad) to do. :) I have never had any type of issue with any of their services. Would highly Recommend.

Super-friendly staff. I had a great time here photographing their location, but more importantly every person I encountered wanted the company and clients to be happy. It was great to see that much care and random discussion about what customers really want to understand about an organization.

If you want to avoid a business that employs smoke and mirrors and you don't want to be nickle and dimed, then go somewhere else. Here is a cautionary tale. I was a client for 4 years where HGA did my personal accounting. Nothing too complicated. Their prices for that service is higher than a typical business for that service, but they seemed available and the price seemed worth it, paying for the peace of mind that I would be taken care of. I was wrong. After they were sent a letter from CRA requesting a specific document to confirm the details of a claim HGA had prepared and filed for me, I was called by one of HGA's employees making me aware of the situation and asking if I wanted to deal with this or them. I asked if it would cost extra for them to provide the requested document and they said "Yes.". No details were given about how much "extra" it would cost for HGA to submit this document. I went in to their office to speak to someone regarding the CRA request and the extra fee. Instead of talking to someone who could help me, I was filtered through. The individual took down details of my concern, doctored up the level of effort it would take to comply with the CRA request for the document saying "They would have to write up a response" and asked "How much are you looking to pay." The next day I was emailed by HGA's Senior Manager in a long email trying to explain (the pretty clear) situation and the Senior Manager stated "The only thing that we have to sell is our time and as such we need to bill for these services." Long story short, HGA couldnt send CRA the document as proof for the claim THEY PREPARED with the document THEY HAD without me complying to pay a yet to be determined fee. After parting ways, I was privy to the CRA request and saw it was literally as easy as sending the document online with client software they use with a reference code, or faxing it in. No written response. No crunching numbers to recalculate a claim they had already calculated and submitted. Just double click an Icon. Type a name. Type a reference code. It blows me away that instead of just dealing with the simple CRA request that was mailed to them, HGA decided to spend alot of time dealing with me trying to justify extra fees. This review and its saltyness is however, free of charge.
