St James Well Pub

This is my home away from home; or my Adult Disneyland. Everything about this place is amazing - from the service, to the food, to the experience. There is not one thing I would change if given the opportunity. You will never be disappointed with TSJW! Highly recommend to pub-goers, food-enthusiasts, or even those just looking for a good place to eat & drink.

My mom and I arrived for lunch with my newborn baby in a stroller. We were told to sit anywhere and that only bar height tables were available. We sat down and were given menus. I then asked if I could switch the bar stool with a stool with a back. A man at the bar (presumably a manager as he was working on a lap top) spoke up said that I couldn’t switch the chairs and then rudely said we couldn’t be seated on that side. I replied that we were told we could sit anywhere and he said that we are not and that we can’t sit over here. Had he asked nicely that we move and let us know that the hostess was new and she didn’t know, we would have moved to the other side of the restaurant. We told him we were leaving and he sarcastically yelled “okay bye then” for all the patrons in the pub to hear “okay bye then”. He didn’t get from his chair the entire encounter and he chose instead to yell across the pub. We won’t be back.

Sorry to say in this day and age but was very disappointed!! Service was good but I called ahead and asked about happy hour details, when I got there the details were the same but when my bill came 4 hours later all prices had jumped higher. What do you do at this point....so I paid the bill but won’t ever return. I’ll continue to support the honest establishments out there, one price when you call, another on there website and another on the virtual menu scanned at the table. Only reason I didn’t give 1 star was our server was nice and my wings were decent. Hope this helps you make a more informative decision the next time you want to get screwed at a local pub.

Amazing pub!! Food, football, friends!! The staff and ambiance are excellent and they are doing a great job dealing with Covid restrictions. Have the nachos.... they're CHIPS!! Huge flex! 👍👍

Always excellent. Had a new server who was attentive and very pleasant. The beef and barley soup is something special.
