City of Kelowna

I owned my own private Taxi for which I leased a PT Plate from Kelowna Eco Taxi. According to section 37 of the Motor Vehicle Act The only people who can lease their PT Plates are known as Carriers and are issued a PT License from the P.T. Board. If you lease a PT Plate from a carrier you must according to the law display the carriers name and information on your vehicle, also you must use operate under their business license. The only way you can get a business license from the City of Kelowna to operate your own Taxi is to be issued a PT License from the Passenger Transportation Board. There are only 2 Cab companies in Kelowna that have employees and they are Current taxi and West Cabs. Kelowna Cabs, Checkmate Taxi and Kelowna Eco Taxi all the drivers are self employed but none of them are required to have their own business license except for me according to 1 particular bylaw officer because I was issued a 500.00 fine for not having a business license while operating my own Taxi. I was also targeted and discriminated by this particular bylaw officer for a total of 1,105.00 in fines for doing exactly the same things as every other taxi in this town. I don't know where they found this bylaw officer or how he was able to be employed by the City of Kelowna but they should be proud of the Idiot and Moron they hired as he knows nothing about the law. Then there is Mr. Neil Drachenberg at Kelowna International Airport who allowed Kelowna Cabs and all other taxis who wanted to cause me financial abuse and ignore all concerns I brought up with him. I was even suspended for refusing a homeless female junkie a ride from the airport to UBCO bus exchange where she came from as I have the video and audio recording of this event. I am also in the process of taking Neil Drachenberg to Supreme court because he allowed Kelowna Cabs to ruin my Taxi and turn a blind eye to the abuse I was being given by Kelowna Cabs. It seems the City of Kelowna turns a blind eye to Kelowna Cabs abusing anyone they wish and permit them to break any law they wish just pray you don't decide to operate your own taxi and compete with Kelowna Cabs because the City of Kelowna will do the same to you or they just allowed the discrimination to be done to me. I have never seen where Intimidation and bullying are allowed to be permitted to take place in order to try to ruin people's lives and this is one person who isn't going to take this garbage lying down. What people don't seem to get is the consequences of their action and every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Someone asked me once if the consequences to me standing up for myself are worth it, I say bring it on!

I have always been pleasantly surprised with the co-operation and service here. As a busy Real Estate agent, investigating the properties that I am listing and selling is top priority and the employees are always knowledgeable and friendly.

Got a parking ticket on day and time where one isn't supposed to pay for parking. I parked on a Friday, at 2:00 PM, I tried to pay for parking at the machine. The machine won't let me pay, as the sign clearly says that paid parking is only after 4 o'clock on weekdays. I got a parking ticket at 2:27 PM. Pretty disappointed, I don't recommend anyone to park here as their information is misleading. I paid my ticket already, as I don't want to go through all the hustle of disputing $25
