Unfortunately, The Cherry Brook Zoo is closed permanently as of Sunday May 31 at 2.00pm AST. PS: I do not like to see animals in cages, so I waited in the car while my friend and her daughter went. That is why I just snapped a photo of some surrounding trees lol. I did see a couple of videos. The worker seemed personable, knowledgeable, and it was cool to see them being fed. She hides the food for them to find (one male, one female), and when they are let into the area to sniff it out and chomp away she interacts with the crowd and answers questions et cetera. It us a shame that the city's people tried to keep it running by fundraising drives and other events. I believe past owners misappropriated those funds or sorely mismanaged them. I hope all of the animals are given new sanctuaries to live out their lives with more room to roam. If you are visiting Saint John and want to see some animals- drive for 1.5 hours North East to Moncton(Highway 1). Or, just go to The Maxx Bar on Union Street on the 1st of any given month and peer inside. A safer option is an urban safari. Just drive slowly and observe some humans in their habitat. An eco-system of yeast, rye, vomit, and mysterious odours creates a breathable atmosphere for the regulars. Good bye, Cherry Brook Zoo. Saint John loses another amenity.

My wife and I took our 2 year old son. It was our first trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it. While it's not overly large, you can easily spend a couple hours here. It was not very busy as we went when first opened. We were greeted graciously and the attendant was helpful in showing a great route to take enabling us to get back to meeting the zoo keeper for a bird exhibit. This was a great experience as well. The zoo keeper was knowledgeable and obviously cared for the animals. I'd recommend this place to anyone wishing to take a nice leisurely stroll while seeing some great animals. My son keeps telling people he say zebra's but I think he was more excited about the rooster!

Really nice experience enjoying the exotic animals the Siberian tigers and Lexi the snow leopard, both near extinction. Very clean and natural setting. Providing a zoo camp for children with good safety rules. Extra Friendly staff! Highly recommend for everyone young or older like me.

My kids loved it. I found the animals had little to no water for this super hot weather but it was nice. The special place with the closed gate they have is amazingly done. Made my 7 year old ponder on what he could do to better the world's situation!
