Hot Star Large Fried Chicken

Honestly, the foods are mediocre at best, it’s mainly the media hype that brings the traffic to this place. Parking is very convenient, but expect it to be busy during lunch and dinner hours. The staffs are great and welcoming. The food is bit overpriced and the quality/ portions just don’t meet the expectations, but I will still recommend come and try out their signature dishes if you feel like it!

Large pieces of chicken. Skin was closer to crunchy than crispy. Some areas were juicy others more dry. Cheese was applied unevenly in butterflied meat. Flavor wasn't bad.

I'm extremely upset as there were bones in it. I went back onto the website just to make sure I didn't order something that states there are bones and I didn't. If you're going to make a deep fried chicken snack I don't think there should be bones in it. And even if you decide that your want to make it with bones, you should really have a disclaimer on your menu. Also it wasn't as crispy as one would expect. I rather eat Taiwanese fried chicken nuggets. I also can't really justify the price of this. Overall dissapointed.

Hot Star's signature dish is probably something you need to try at least once. The way it is served is akin to street food, so it's better as take out for the large fried chicken. Be warned however the wait for the chicken is a bit lengthy ranging around 10-15 minutes. The drinks offered are unique and interesting. Overall it's a good place to pick up a tasty snack.

The fried chicken steak is decent. I ordered the seaweed flavor found it just average taste and not juicy enough. A combo cost $15+ is not cheap and simply can't be justified.
