Sobo

Food was good. They have a lot of good options for breakfast. Few more Salmon items might be great to have. Loved their fruit salad and biscuits. They also have yummy chocolate chip cookies. Must visit when you are in Tofino.

Overall impression of this place is good. We tried 6 of their dishes during lunch and my favourite item was the salmon chowder. Served hot and smokey. The crispy polenta fries are such a treat. I was expecting more leafy greens in the soba noodle salad, but it is a bit heavier on the carb side. Other dishes were ok.

We went in to try the famous SoBo margarita - and decided to try the smoky seafood chowder and wood fired pizza as well. All items were absolutely delicious. The soup was full of salmon and a lovely smoky, creamy flavour. The pizza took a bit longer than I would expect to arrive...but the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and comfortable while we waited. The mushroom pizza was absolutely loaded with toppings - huge bonus points!! The server (Matt) was really attentive, listened and engaged with us, and over all helped create a lovely experience.

Yum yum yum!! He had their tuna melt special with fantastic chowder. As a starter we had the fried oysters and shrimp cakes. I have absolutely no complaints at all about the food here. We loved the atmosphere and our waiter was super awesome.

I was surprised as everything we ordered tasted amazing! Got scallops, cod cakes, oysters and the seafood bouillabaisse. I love how the chef put just enough flavor to make the dish special but does not to overpower the freshness coming from the seafood. Service was also good and quick. We got lucky to have a table but make sure to make reservations!
