Black Rock Oceanfront Resort

The location is absolutely beautiful and very well placed near some excellent trails. The restaurants located in the hotel were fine and I've reviewed them separately. The room was overall excellent with a lovely bathroom with heated floors but there was a few oddities. There was no microwave even though there was an oven and dishwasher. There wasn't a suitable table or chairs in the room to enjoy any meal you might choose to prepare for yourself. Parking is not assigned so if you're lucky it is close to where you are staying, worst case is a short walk. The front desk was very helpful in any matter we contacted them regarding. It was overall an enjoyable stay and a positive experience.

Wonderful location, perched oceanfront on a rocky bay and inlet. We were third floor in a one bedroom corner suite...and absolutely wowed by the views from large windows. Attractive and comfortable suite, big bathroom, adequate mini kitchen without oven, comfortable bed, fireplace and balcony. Great hiking right from the property. Decent bar and restaurant, friendly and helpful staff all round. This will be a repeat destination for us!

Only went to the lounge (LOUNGE REVIEW). Staff super welcoming and friendly. The view was outstanding, we could sit there all day. They have couches, tables, the views and fireplaces. Lots of good places to pick from to sit. The food was very good, facilities very clean. Highly recommend checking this place out, have some drinks and chill.

550 a night taxes in for a one bedroom aging suite and my view was a row of oceanfront condos. I thought for that kind of money I'd get a real oceanfront condo. Then the neighbor below us partied till 2AM and we finally had to call front desk. There are far better resorts for this kind of money, we explained our concerns diplomatically but no one cared. They said the Manager would call, haven't heard a thing.

Booked top floor suite for our 10th anniversary. The person we booked with confirmed this, Showed up to bottom floor suite. Feels like a basement suite and can hear people walking above. ZERO privacy, basically communal balconies. Seems odd they would design a higher end resort with upper and lower level suites considering they are the same price. Also the lack of privacy is shocking, have never seen this from a waterfront property where you are paying for the view. Not a lot they can do about the design but if you are staying here DO NOT get a bottom suite. Heated tile floors not working and makeup mirror broken. Called to have fixed, they said it would be done ASAP and when we got back to room hours later they had forgot about us or ????? Who knows, So we had to call back and were told sorry, they’d have to send someone the next day now. Just frustrated so we said don’t bother. I would never stay here again, for this price. Be very careful with the trail suites, you could get an amazing suite or you could be very disappointed.
