Ashcroft Museum

Wonderful museum. Things are nicely organized and presented. Lots to look at and explore. I went in expecting this to be a 10 min stop and ended up staying over an hour. Drop by for a look, you won't regret it. PS: The Curator is wonderful too!

As museums go,this is one of the best small town museums I have ever explored. Going through, you get a variety of views of the town in its many different lives. It was a part of the gold trail once the railway got here. The town was at a later time important for its potatoes and also boasted a tomato cannery. Ranches raising cattle for meat supplies the gold mìnerrs too.they have a good depiction of the coal mines that operated here. An excellent way to pass a couple of hours.

Fascinating history and the sheer number of artefacts was impressive!
