Very interesting. Visit covers few topics : first nation, military history, deportation of acadians...
Beautiful museum, full of history, I visited it during November although its not quite the season, but still I enjoyed the visit so much I spent almost 2 hours really lost track of time.
I loved the virtual reality and the simulation of the characters. Its really fun.
It is a very nice place to visit in the summer. Some enjoy a picnic in the park while many tourists come to see the changing of the guard. This happens mostly during the summer season and is interesting to watch. They also have summer movies outdoors here at night and the Calithumpians and other acts as well. On Thursday evenings we also have the cultural market there as well. They always have amazing food trucks and arts and crafts to buy.
Nice grounds to relax in. Near the waterfront so the breeze was a welcome for a hot, summer day. There are washroom facilities inside the building once you pay. As I entered the building, there was a strong musty smell. Visitors take a self guided tour. The handout was very helpful and easy to follow. Very good, varied informative exhibits. I am glad I spent the time to read through most of the exhibits. I wasn't there for any special activities but still enjoyed my visit. I saw some people setting up for a show, but didn't stay for it. Wanted to give four stars but it was musty, wish is typical of older buildings.
A nice museum with a good historic (and prehistoric) overview of Fredericton. The building is beautiful, but it is a self - guided tour. You are given a guide, but for the cost, I would prefer a guide to be available, even just wondering guides for if you have question. Other than a few focused exhibits, like the giant frog, it is very general, but informative. A good first place to visit in Fredericton.
