Bent River General Store, Gas (Diesel) & LCBO outlet

My review is based on my experience at the cafe. We were an easy-going party of 4 and the only ones in there during lunchtime in the fall. There was barely a welcome, and the server was very gruff with us - monotone, didn’t crack a smile, used as few words as possible. The food was okay at best. Two of us asked for our bacon to be extra crispy and in both cases it was not only not at all crispy, but also underdone by most restaurants’ standards. The bathroom facilities were not clean. There was no soap, and the water from the tap was ice cold no matter how long you ran it. When it came time for the cheque, our server suddenly became chatty and developed a smile... I would not recommend this place. I have had the butter tarts from the general store, and they’re good... just hope that one of their friends isn’t in the store because you won’t be able to buy them until they’re finished their conversation.

Nice friendly staff at the general store and at the trailer park. The store has great butter tarts and a good variety of things. It’s a one stop shop for gas, food and ice cream.

Clerk was very friendly and helpful. Dock was clean and quiet. Let's all keep it that way.
