U'mista Cultural Centre

This is definitely worth the trip to Alert Bay alone. Amazing artifacts that have been returned to their rightful owners. Great information that puts it all into context, excellent displays, and an amazing gift shop. Wish I had spent more time there.

Loved my visit here. So much of their culture is told through their art. So much to take in, need to visit again next time I'm in Alert Bay.

Would reccomend to visit. Guest shop is well stocked with books and Native merchandise. From masks to clothing to books. Steeped in West Coast Native culture. A must stop for any visitor looking for gifts and learning.

Very beautiful location. Excellent cultural centre and fabulous exhibits of cultural artifacts as well as current art.

Very interesting and well organize center. It breaks with the traditional western idea of what a museum should be. It is a community collaborative work. Very cool! And of course the whole region is beautiful, and full of history!
