Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake, Metropolis at Metrotown

Uncle Tetsu cheese cake is very light and fluffy. It has good texture to it. Personally I’m not too big of a fan, but it’s a good cheese cake if you want a light dessert. They had a huge line when they first opened, but now it seems like they don’t get more than 2-3 people waiting in line. I think it’s worth trying if you don’t like heavy desserts but still feel peckish for a cheese cake.

This is such a lovely cheesecake. It’s not anything like North American style, so you’ll be in for a shock if you’ve never tried a Japanese style before. The texture and flavour is so delicate, to the point that at first you think it may be bland; it is anything but. The “plainness” allows you to fully experience the quality of each individual product. It is so satisfying to eat, and you may find yourself thinking about it for days after.

This is my favorite cheesecake ever. Whenever I have guests in my place, I am be ready with this without thinking. We just enjoy feeling of texture of the cake and taste. We really enjoyed the honey madeleines. If you buy pack of 3, then you get 1 for free. If lucky, you will be able to get it right out from the oven, it will be warm, soft, moist and buttery. The only downside is the wait time is super long. The cashier can be a bit more efficient :)

Delicious cheesecake! This location is doing well with cleaning and social distancing - they even have an automatic cash machine that accepts your money and distributes your change. Quick and friendly service. We will be back!
