Saint Germain Bakery

It is one of the popular and tasty bakery in Metro Mall. I loved to go and visit this place every time I come to the mall. Considering this pandemic, all workers were wearing the masks and making sure that people are keeping the social distance. Th However, always the workers look busy and never treat the customers kindly and friendly. I have seen very rude and impolite workers pushing the senior customers around, asking sanitizing their hands. Of course, it is super important to be kept clean for all of us, but they could treat the seniors more politely and kindly, rather than yelling and talking back with them in front of all people. Please do not look down on the seniors, they are the first people that we should help in this situation. One senior gentleman was a bit upset as the workers checked him a couple of times whether to sanitize his hands or not. It is GOOD to check, and double check. BUT, you were not kind and there was no respect, rather than your tone and attitude were totally looking down on him. Cashiers? nothing to say. Why? because they always look angry. Now, I don't want to go to this place anymore, since there are more other good bakeries outside.

Today, I bought 7 items, but I found out they charged me 9 items. Two items was charged double that I did not order and they didn't give me the item either. Last time they charged me a more expensive item that I did not purchase. This is second time in a roll. I only found out when I got home. So this time I called the store and told them they charged me extra items for $4.50 that I didn't order and it wasn't in the box either. The girl blamed it was too busy. I said it wasn't even busy when I was there. I told her the items was taken directly from the kitchen to the tilt how can u charge me double. She said come down next time I will give u the two items back but no apologize either. She said I can file a complain to her manager. So I went to the store the same day. I told her I don't want the pastry I want my money back for the pastry that I didn't get and didn't order either. I probably won't go back to this dishonest store even I like their pastry. And the girl Jenny wasn't too happy either when she gave me back my money. It was obviously their mistake. It caused me time and gas to go down and get my money back.

For the busy bakery chain, this location is quite popular. During social distancing, the staff maintains order, trying different methods: providing disposable gloves, enforcing one-way line-up towards the cashiers. For good quality Asian style bakery treats, they're a bit pricier than the other comparable bakeries on the other side of the mall, but are also better quality. End of day discounts usually draws a small crowd in front of the store (sometimes blocking walk traffic) towards a line-up.

Fruit cake was delicious and line-up was quite a short wait. Ivy was fast, efficient and accommodating even when I asked to add extra written messages on the cake after my original request was completed.

IMO BEST egg tart! I use to get my egg tarts at random places, but my GF told me I had to try these one and it changed my life forever. It's not dense like other egg tarts, it's very light and flacky, but doesn't fall apart when you hold it. My second favorite item is their pineapple bun, which I highly recommend you toasting *yum*. Something I look to for my cheat days. The service can be a hit or miss, but I use Uber eat to by pass that haha.
