Enjoyed seeing the church and cemetery in 2012. Several ancestors buried here. I was hoping to see the inside but I was out of time and had to head back to Quebec City. My great great grandmother, Marie Georgina Lavoie was baptized here in 1841, married to Cyprien Desgagne.

To discover. The church of Sainte-Agnès is a place of worship of Catholic tradition built in 1841 and 1842. The wooden building has a Latin cross plan composed of a nave with a vessel, a transept and a choir protruding terminated by a flat chevet. The facade has a central portal and two side doors. It is surmounted by a bell tower which caps the roof ridge with two straight slopes. A sacristy of rectangular plan with a floor and a half is grafted to the bedside in the extension of the choir. It is connected to the left arm of the transept by a covered path. The church overlooks a religious complex composed of the old presbytery as well as the cemetery with its mass grave and its enclosure. Located in a mountainous environment, in the heart of the village nucleus of the Sainte-Agnès sector, a visit to the church is a must. Nice visit and discovery for me! This property is classified heritage building.
