True North Accounting - Calgary Small Business Accountant

I have only dealt with this company a couple of times, but in both my phone query and a webinar I attended I found them VERY informative and helpful!

Excellent team at True North. Both Matt and Curtis work with your business in terms you can understand. They explain your options, make recommendations and help you achieve a sound governance foundation for your business. No two businesses are identical. Their latest webcast on the different ways a small business owner can pay themselves was particularly useful. Not just useful but outstanding. There are so many other accountants who support small business and without any explanation tell their novice clients just put themselves on payroll. I have been trying to understand the reason for this. Is it lazy, is it ignorance? If your bookkeeper or accountant tells you to get on payroll, stop. Contact True North. Fire your bookkeeper.

Our old accountant just did the taxes. They didn’t offer advice, and we couldn’t ask them questions. With True North, you pay a flat fee and you can consult with them during the year if needed. They’re awesome!

My experience with TNC so far has been GREAT. They are kind, explain everything in laymans terms (which I need), are constantly updating you on changes to the tax system, COVID support (personal & Biz), hosting webinars, etc. Everything can be done and uploaded online and if you need to speak with them over the phone anytime, they won't nickel and dime you for it. I have been through a few accountants and it always ends badly. They are the complete opposite of your stereotypical accountants. They make it stress-free and have your back.
