Haven't found a non-apostate church in years. Finally, a real church, with hymns and not a cabaret. Bible, not psycho-babble. I've only gone once, so hopefully this church is of the faithful remnant. Haven't found a real church in Calgary for a decade or more. This is definitely one of the last in Calgary! All have gone over to the world. The pastor is not preaching psychology, he preaches directly from the Word, the concept of DYING TO SELF, not feeding it. I will keep going -- I hope my first impressions are true. On the other hand, with some of the conservative churches I have found them very closed, suspicious and unwelcoming, even years later! I hope this is a true church. Today, I was very happy to find it, though hard to tell how welcoming or "cliquey" it is. Time will tell. So far, so good. UPDATE TWO MONTHS LATER: Starting to wonder about this church. This is not a church that prepares it's sheep for the end times and it completely terrifies me with all that is going on, the pastors seem like they're asleep. Laodaceian perhaps. The pastors seem to be living in some alternate universe. They have even decided to CLOSE Christmas service due to COVID even though no authorities have told them to do so and Christmas is still less than a month away. If you are looking for a pastor and community to find comfort and encouragement in an encroaching one-world government, you're not going to find that here. Pity indeed because the Word tells us how important it is to meet and encourage one another at these times. Little hard to do when the pastors all seem to have their heads in the sand. I will update if this changes. But at least they still sing hymns, don't psychologize and read directly from the Word, which is still better than nothing. Just not sure they're with the times and this is horrifying.

I don't know who's writing these reviews (members I'm sure) but this church is full of dead Christians! My wife and I, who are not believers, went on Easter Sunday (!) expecting a church full of enthusiastic Christians celebrating the highest and holiest day of the year. Instead we found a church full of "older" people and bored people. The sermon was basically a Bible study with no stories or illustrations or relevance. The minister did not even read the Easter story! That's like not reading the nativity story on Christmas. And where is the resurrection power in the lives of these sleeping saints? It is no wonder this church on Easter was at best 20% full and almost all of these were seniors. I saw they had a magnificent pipe organ on which not a note was played. Is there a better day for the triumphant sounds of a pipe organ to fill a church than Easter?? There is no question the building is splendid with vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, an upper deck and wooden pews. But this does not constitute the church. Too bad the congregants are so apathetic. If this is "true" Christianity, count me out!! Ps. Not a single person approached us to share this wonderful news of the resurrection.
