Fabulous small community service, I was in a horrific "Black Friday" mva that was spawned by slippery wet roads, poor visibility and substandard headlight (echoed in tv news story on Nov 29th/18) intermittent rain, debris and some mud, and did not speed nor had "distractions" and was not charged as such. My 2011 Escape was totaled and this former lawman, long ago cheated death and a trip to the hospital. The firemen were top notch, and compassionate while I was in shock, injured as it could have been worse. Quick thinking, I made an evasive maneuver to avoid a far worse mva and barely clipped a small car. No time to brake which would have triggered lost control to impact others. I aimed for the cement barrier on the side of the road to absorb the impact and made the right choice; echoed by others. Kudos to the witnesses, Pitt Fire and RCMP. A driver of over 37 years, thank you and a speedy recovery for the girl while I suffer worse pain and flashbacks. I support those who make our folks safe and have helped others to my credit. To those who helped me and the other party, salute. Black Friday will always have a dual meaning...

This is a volunteer organization. I've nevee had to have them respond to a fire (and long may that continue...) Ww have, however, had them resoond to a medical emergency. PMFD resoonded to a 911 call a full 10 minutes before an ambulance arrived. They were preoared to administer oxygen (unconscious patient) and were calmly professional. We can't thank rhem enough.
