Town of Whitecourt

Bustling community of 10,000 people catering to the forestry and oil and gas industries in Alberta. Reasonably good employment numbers despite the numerous hits to Alberta's oil and gas sector. The large forestry and related industry presence helps diversify the local economy some. The Woodlands County offices are located 10 km. west of Whitecourt on AB Highway 32 at the Whitecourt Airport. The town has a beautiful natural setting in the valley of the McLeod and Athabasca Rivers. Accommodation here is quite plentiful and there are good fishing locations nearby.

you're snow removal on hwy 43 sucks. yes i know you get a lot more snow and have hills, however, safety on the hwy around you is so very poor because of it. there are many people who travel to go to work in the oil and gas industry. this part of the hwy slows travelling hrs all the time.
