Smith's Bagelry

SO DELICIOUS! I tried the feta&spinach thing (can't remember how it's called) and the gound beef one and they were both very good. Feta and spinach was my favorite though. Also had a bagel to go and had to come back to get more before leaving town because they were to good! All freshly made; I'm impressed.

Not classic bagels, but a great bakery for sure. The standard bagel is more like a croissant than a classic bagel - and the cinnamon bagel was like a hybrid of a croissant and an unglazed cinammon roll.. very soft, flaky and delicious, light but rich. Serious pastries my friends. Got a slice of the San Sebastien cheesecake, but haven't tasted it yet... have high hopes for it

Possibly the best Sesame seed bagels in Vancouver! Definitely try some of their Turkish baked goods, as they are very tasty! I love their bourek (had never had it before, now one of my favorite things). Always incredibly friendly service!

Wonderful

I used to love this place, and up until my experience today I would have consistently given this cafe 5 stars. Like I said, until today. I would come here on my way to or on my way back from physio- sometimes with my girlfriend, sometimes by myself. The coffee is great, and we loved the various breads and especially the cheesecake. Everything is very fairly priced for the amounts being charged. Today when we went we were sitting inside having a coffee and cheesecake. After a couple of minutes I started to smell cigarette smoke and looked outside but couldn't see anything. My girlfriend suggested maybe someone had just walked by the place smoking and that's what we were smelling. A few minutes later, as we were leaving, I noticed two people outside on their patio area sitting at a table smoking. This wasn't being done in a sneaky kind of way, but in full view of the cafe's employees and possibly someone who looked like a manager or the owner. From the perspective of a non smoker, it is DISGUSTING to be sitting in a cafe, enjoying some food and coffee, and smell cigarette smoke wafting in from outside. And as a food service establishment, you also know this is ILLEGAL, but clearly it is not something that concerns you. Maybe some tickets from bylaw would help you remember you have an obligation to ensure people don't smoke on your patio. I won't be going back to a place to doesn't care enough to follow rules like this. Review edit: this was being done in full view of your employee(s), so please don’t begin to tell me it’s not tolerated, as clearly it is. Too bad, because I really liked your place. But if your employees don’t care enough about this, why would I ever spend my money with you?
