Solly's Bagelry

Great bagels, AMAZING cinnamon buns!!! One of the only places you can find Jewish deli food in the city. I'm so thankful this is in the neighborhood. The service is a little slow, but it's worth the wait :)

Awful. I'd give it a zero if I could. The bagels are decent enough, but the service standards here are incredibly weak and often times rude. I've been to both locations multiple times to "see if it would improve" but it doesn't. Often they get the order wrong and the service staff seem disengage. I've often seen the owner/manager speak harshly and even yell at the staff. I can't imagine having an environment like this works well for morale. Save your time and money. Go to a cafe or bagel shop that has a more positive energy and ambience.

The atmosphere in the little cafe is warm and inviting, but the charm ends there. The people behind the counter seem very nice, but the operations are slow and very poorly planned: paying for a tub of cream cheese can take 13 minutes, and same for ordering a simple coffee! No wifi. Not a place to go if you’re in a hurry. Also, as others have mentioned, the lady who runs the place comes off as loud and aggressive: kind of ruins the inviting atmosphere.

My one of my favourite Jewish bakeries! Their food is delicious and service is great. Hot or cold latkes and yummy bagels! They have a quaint little outdoor area that’s great for an afternoon coffee and pastry.

I have lived across the street from this Solly's for years and have frequented many times. I am now finally taking the time to write a review and say that I will give no more business to Solly's. The management and ownership of this place is terrible. Take one look at the amount of signs and post-it notes and confusing directional signage, and be there just once when the owner is there shouting (super confusing) directions at her staff and patrons and you'll get it. Today, finally, I bought $45 worth of items. I got home and realized one of the cream cheese's was expired, and tried a number of the bagels and they did not seem fresh... at all... I went back to ask about the bagels and let them know about the cream cheese. The woman working was very nice and professional, but other than replace the cream cheese there is nothing they could do. Literally. I didn't want a replacement cream cheese because at this point I didn't even want to keep the bagels, so she offered a refund... except management has to give refunds (staff can't) and she couldn't get the manager and a line was growing behind me, so I told her not to worry about it and I left. I feel for the staff that have to work in a place where they are so powerless and the systems that run the store are broken. I left without a refund or replacement, and just kissed the $40 goodbye and decided to finally write a review and swear off this place.
