I required some information regarding a family issue and the service provided was exceptional. Deanna was extremely professional, with her manner, her advice and she solved my issue. Given the nature of these services it takes a special and empathetic person, and I was very impressed with her and Mountain View.

Beautiful and well kept cemetery. I am here on a daily basis to spend time with a lost loved one. This is not a park or a place to take a leisurely bike ride, a jog, a stroll or to walk your dog. People’s loved ones are buried here to Rest In Peace. Please be respectful and consider not treating this area as a park. Yesterday I saw someone using the grounds to learn how to drive. They had an L on the back of their car and were doing rounds throughout the cemetery grounds before venturing out onto the road with their “teacher” in the car. It was very upsetting. I’m sure many people don’t intentionally mean to be disrespectful but please consider that it can come across that way. There is plenty of parks and other scenic routes in the city. Use them and not the cemetery.

- I grew up living right on Fraser Street at about where 34th Avenue would have been - if it had been a constructed road - right across from the Mountain View cemetery - the old cemetery office and works yard was located at 33rd Avenue and Fraser Street right near where we lived - the property was approximately an acre in size - the office was a huge old house - very well kept - it was torn down in the mid 1960's and an A&W was constructed on the Fraser Street side of the property - 5 houses were built on the Chester Street East side of the property - sadly when the old house was torn down a beautiful old Vancouver heritage home was destroyed - if it happened today that house would have been saved and on the Vancouver Historical Society preservation list - would be interesting to know the history of the property before it was used as the cemetery office - one thing the neighbours living there all agreed on - we had a lot of "quiet neighbours"!
