Vancouver Public Library, nə́c̓aʔmat ct Strathcona Branch (Open with Limited Services)

NOTE; I received a response from the library regarding this and understand that there can be difficult patrons, especially in these times. I have edited my rating and review accordingly, removing expression of my opinions and balancing with past good experiences, but can only let the plain facts stand because I still feel the situation could have been dealt with better. Picking up a book today at the Strathcona branch an elderly lady, walking with a stick, asked if she could have a seat and rest her legs, she was told "no". She pointed out that there were seats available at the computers but was told by the librarian she couldn't have one. Leaving the library she asked the security guard if she could sit in one of the two chairs at the entrance and was again denied.

Surprisingly clean and well-kept with helpful staff and good security. No private desks for studying/working but you can book out rooms ahead of time if you wish.

Update your open time please. Says 9am, I drove there only to see a sign at the door, opens at 10 am. 🤨

Staff are very helpful, and security guy kept an eye on my dog (not permitted inside) while I popped in to print something. This is not a huge location, but I have always managed to locate what I am looking for here.

A beautiful library with lovely staff, wonderful free services and events, and work resources. Wifi is very fast, too :)
