Vancouver school board needs to invest in this great school and have more aboriginal focused schools in Vancouver.

My review is purely based upon its value as a PLACE OF INTEREST... a wonderful place to stop by & visit. Anyone visiting East Vancouver whether from across town or the globe should have look at the beautiful heritage architecture & the native artwork on its exterior plus the large wall mural of butterflies in the playground off East Pender /Victoria Drive . A marvellous/fascinating multilayered heritage site: Worthy of taking it in a visual feast. I include some exterior detail photos of several elements. I discovered this place by moving to the area,- a few years ago I See it & its grounds everyday. Its a place that if historical significance & being on unceded Coast Salish Territory, providing much needed education alternative for First Nations-Coast Salish children to learn in their native culture & history in an appropriate immersive indigenous environment... everyone i our neighbourhood consider it a landmark and important cornerstone. I’ve attended public events at the school & it’s our Voting place/election poll station I can’t review:comment on the school’s curricula nor its educational standards/procedures nor the teachers & administrators performance per se, as I don’t have children - hence none enrolled. However, from what I see/hear/understand from others it’s a great school, offering well thought through programs & teachings.

These teachers really care about their kids. There is a unique spirit here, and an outside-the-box approach to working with kids who have a lot of challenges.
