Fong's Market & Gift Shop

Fong's is the best place to buy Asian ingredients on the Sunshine Coast - items you won't find at regular grocery stores. I was making Thai tom yum soup and they sold me everything I needed, from galangal and lemon grass to shrimp paste, to the dried shrimps. They also sell items for making Japanese cuisine (everything you'd need for ramen, for example) or Chinese cuisine (they sell frozen dim sum and will take orders for fresh Chinese vegetables). If you just walk by, you might mistake this place for only selling candy, ice cream, trinkets, and odds and ends, but it's a true gem of the neighbourhood for Sunshine Coast foodies. The staff are also truly wonderful and go beyond the call of duty to help you. Just call them up and tell them what you're cooking and what ingredients you need, and they're more than happy to help you find what you need. They'll package it all up and have it ready for you (especially important right now during this pandemic). Thanks Fong's!

We bought 3 of the bamboo roller blinds from Fong's to provide some additional shelter to a plant in one corner of our garden (on 2 sides of existing lattice fencing as well as above the plant). This was a good solution for us. Fong's were very helpful and nice to deal with!
