GUSE'S CONSULTING

My mom had reached out to this woman to complete her taxes. My mom explained to Corinne that she was behind in her taxes and needed to complete 2017 & 2018 tax years. Corinne explained that she would need to complete 2018 tax year first, which any bookkeeper and/or accountant or anyone that does their own taxes for that matter, would know that the latter tax year SHOULD be completed first. Sufficient time was given to this woman to complete these taxes. She accepted and said that it would be completed prior to the deadline. After receiving signed document allowing this woman to complete the taxes for 2018, my mom understood that Corinne would begin the process of completing the taxes. Much time had passed and no communication had been received as to the status of the taxes. It was not until after my mom reached out to her, that she wrote back, excusing herself because her friend had died, and then a second excuse was that she was sick. Now, if that is the case, I am very sorry to hear, but as a business owner, you have an obligation to notify your client especially with tight deadlines. After much time this woman finally was asking questions. I was unaware of my moms situation and upon learning that this woman had billed my mother for 20 hours @ $35 dollars ($700) for 1 year taxes NOT COMPLETED, and that an ADDITIONAL CHARGE of $140 dollars would be billed from an accountant separate to Guse's Consulting business, I was MORTIFIED to have learned this. My mom's receipts etc. are far from complicated. I quickly asked my mom to gather everything and that I would do her taxes. Corinne would not hand over anything until PARTIAL payment was received. Payment should be collected when a job is completed and done properly. Regardless, my mom made the payment in order to receive her receipts back. It's clear to me now that these hours do not make sense and are greatly INFLATED. I started doing the 2017 tax year, followed by the 2018 tax year that Corrinne was supposed to have completed. It was clear that this woman did NOT spend 20 hours on the 2018 tax year and not even completing them. IF she did work on this for 20 hours, she is extremely slow and perhaps should factor that in to the price that she charges... SHAME ON YOU! Including reorganizing the receipts, calculating mileage etc. it took me 4 hours to complete 2 years of taxes through to completion including filing for my mom. I am outraged...THIS REVIEW WILL NOT BE TAKEN DOWN UNTIL THE MONEY YOU CHARGED MY MOM HAS BEEN RETURNED TO IN FULL! I WILL SHARE IT ON EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM TO ADVISE OTHERS OF THIS. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE - IS WRONG!
