Went to visit this museum excitedly on a Sunday drive with my mother only to be disappointed to find it closed on a Sunday afternoon. The website says it should be open on Sunday, and if any time it should be open, the middle of summer is definitely it. So they lose a point for that. I didn't get to see the actual hockey museum, but I did explore the grounds and see the Clifton Estate, Disc Golf Course. That was really fun to watch, as I had never seen it before, and had never even heard of it. There were many people playing it and the grounds of the museum/park were very lovely. Well worth visiting. I would just check to make sure they are actually open first.

Unique collection of hockey material inside of an old beautiful mansion. Employees are extremely nice and helpful!

Really interesting museum with knowledgeable staff who are more than willing to share their expertise! Just a note -- it is actually conjoined with the Haliburton House Museum, which is also located in this house, and there is an admission fee of $3.90, but it is well worth it.

It was a delightful surprise on our day's drive and we learned a lot! The house itself was a wonderful example of the architecture and decor of the day and the staff were helpful.

Visit Long Pond about a mile or two away; it seems to be the AGREED birthplace of hockey. I suppose this is a nice enough little Museum but there's a lingering suspicion that Mr. Halliburton leveraged himself into a position of hockey historical significance that may be...dubious. He is I, I think, a documented plagiarist - that - accidentally let slip from our docent.
