Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna

I typically don't leave reviews, but felt I had to after this terrible experience. First of all, the food was decent, what you would expect from a Greek restaurant. The menu was limited with some items sold out, more than likely due to Covid, which is fine. Understandable. The real issue here is the extremely rude manager or owner that runs the place. Upon entering the empty restaurant, he welcomed us with a rather poor attitude, and asked if we had a reservation, we said that we were here meeting someone who is already inside and just arrived. Instead of showing us to our table, he doubles down and says "I asked you a question, do you have a reservation?". Doesn't even bother showing us to our table after we answer, and couldn't have been more hostile. At the end of the meal after the bill was paid, we were relaxing and enjoying some conversation. At about 8:40pm he rudely yells from across the restaurant "WE CLOSED A WHILE AGO, TIME TO GO" The hours on google state closing is 10:30pm. How are we supposed to know? This place is a joke, would not recommend.

My daughter and her friends went for dinner tonight and all of their plates came to them frozen cold. My daughter and her friends complained to the waitress and she did nothing about it and charged for the full price of the meal even though the kids didn't eat it. I telephoned them to discuss the service and the manager and the waitress told me if I didn't stop calling they would call the police. I only called once. They were mixing me up with another customer that was complaining about a high chair. I was calling about a separate complaint and they put me on speaker and told me that I was setting them up. I could hear their conversation. I tried calling them back to explain that my complaint had nothing to do with a high chair but the phone was busy ongoing and I could not get through. Unbelievable, first, threatening to call the police when I just simply phoned to talk to the manager to talk about how my daughter and her friends were treated. Never go to this place. Poor, poor, poor customer service and they served frozen food, not fresh. How this place is still in business is shocking. Try another Greek place. Absolutely disgusting how we were treated. PS I fnally got through and spoke to the manager again and he told me to f**** off and not to call again. I tried to explain why I was calling and he didn't want to know. He was very angry and so was the waitress that answered the phone. I strongly believe that they had a lot of complaints tonight and people were calling to complain and how they handled it was by swearing and threatening to call the police instead of listening to the customer. Pease do not go here. There are so many wonderful Greek restaurants in Burnaby. Go to another restaurant. Horrible service and cold, frozen food.

Great food and so is the service. Go for it!

I have been eating at Vassilis for 30 years. The food is authentic and amazing. The best Greek restaurant in Metro Vancouver! Beautiful setting with a Mediterranean vibe. Well cared for plants and flowers help create an intimate ambience. A great place for a romantic dinner or good times with a group.
