New Westminster

Not bad for what New West used to be, this area has changed a lot. Happy to see the station is clean, well maintained.

Whoa… what a station! Most of the time I just flew by on the SkyTrain, and it looked very fascinating. But to actually alight there and look at the mall, it’s so interesting. This is probably the most mall-integrated station on the entire Skytrain network! It’s so interesting how the shops “surround” the tracks and trains. There’s even a whole grocery store in the station! The pedestrian overpass has probably the best views of the entire station. You can see the trains fly by as they serve the station. As always, the station is fully accessible with two elevators, one per platform. A little confusing where to enter for your train; the fare gates on the ticket hall level are for Waterfront-bound trains only. Had to look twice to catch that sign!

Great place to catch the SkyTrain

This place refuses to allow you to take a piss anywhere other than Safeway. Enjoy a 12 person line when your bladder is exploding because junkies used to shoot up in the bathrooms (the junkies are still here, it's just now they shoot up under the pier).

The New Westminster Station is great. It is centrally located and the moment you exit there is a wide variety of stores and restaurants, as well as a movie theatre, Safeway grocery store, etc. The one small issue for me during my first few visits was that I found it a little confusing to navigate to get to the different levels. It was mostly due to the fact that the elevators are/were under construction. Nonetheless, it’s a tad confusing. Besides that, I really appreciate this station. It quickly and efficiently helps me to get where I need to be. Vancouver’s transit system is TOP notch. ***IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL KINDLY “LIKE” IT***
