Love this park. Can’t say enough good things about it. The location is stunning, and so near to Shelburne. It is directly connected with the rail trail and we cycled our bikes to Shelburne, had a drink at the yacht club, did some shopping and cycled back. There are some fantastic sites here and some not so fantastic. We last stayed at a waterfront site that was absolutely lovely. Make sure you check out the map and site images before you book. Not all waterfront sites are good. Some have a bit of privacy and others are sitting right on top of your neighbours so you can all hear each other sneeze. The washrooms are fantastic. The best in the provincial parks after Valley View Provincial Park. Each washroom is private, for you only, and includes a full shower, a sink and a toilet. They are all private washrooms in the entire washroom facility. Wheelchair accessible too for all of them. This will be your best washroom experience. The campfire wood was good here too, which is not always the case at every campground.

Great place to go camping and we had a sure with a wonderful view. The new washrooms are great. Individual rooms complete with sink, toilet, shower (handicap capable) changing table. Lots of room, very clean.

We really enjoyed our stay (Site 12). The kids rode their bikes all around the park. The rail trail to Shelburne (~8km round trip) is in very good shape for bikes. We drove to Roseway beach (25km) and the splash pad I'm Graham's Park to cool the kids down. Many sites work well for family groups as they are clustered close. The NEW WASHROOMS are Excellent! They have big rooms for families to use with accessible full size showers, warm water, change tables, and flush toilets.

My girlfriend and I arrived here during COVID while motorcycle camping around Nova Scotia, and were able to find a campsite not too far from the water, and because of social distancing, we had a wooded, rather secluded site. The view of Shelburne Harbour, looking East across to the town itself was wonderful, and as the light dropped into late evening, the lights of the town could just be made out on the other side of the water. The reason it loses a star is that it isn't ideal for tents as the ground is covered in loose pine needles that you are going to want to wipe off your ground sheet or tent as you roll it up. The facilities close to the sites are outhouses, and I had to bring my own toilet paper to use them. Not a huge deal, as I'm not that much of a toff. They could do with a bit of lime or wood ash tossed down the hole to kill some of the smell. :) Also, grab a map,. as the flow of traffic was strange, and I was very happy I was on a "go anywhere" motorcycle and could respectfully bend a few rules where electric gates were concerned. I may have traveled the wrong way once or twice for which I apologize. The signage is not that good. Would I recommend it? Yes. Shelburne is close by if you wanted to stroll the sidewalks and sample the evening air, or go shopping for food to add to the pot at the campsite.

Apparently it's not good enough to visit the park webpage to confirm whether amenities are available or not, but rather you need to dig into the NS Parks website under advisories. Conflicting information was presented on the park page, suggesting the showers would be open at reduced hours due to COVID-19, when in fact the showers were under construction and completely closed. Has we known that, we would have booked elsewhere. A disappointing stay as a result.
