Not sure if this is the same place, and I probably shouldn't tell this story, but over 35 years has past... back in 1983-84, my friend and I drove across the border from Pittsburg and stopped at a bar at the intersection here. We were only 16-17, weren't really drinkers, and didn't realize Canadian beer had a higher alcohol content. We had about 3 beers each and felt pretty lit. On the drive home, I made 3 attempts to get back up the hill to border crossing and Pittsburg. I was driving a standard shift automobile and being a fairly new driver, wasn't aware that using a lower speed would have gotten us up the hill. My friend suggested, being that it was "Magnetic Hill", we put the car in neutral and see what happens. Sure enough, the car rolled UP the hill. We had no issues at border patrol, but we did have a moose hold us up at 3rd Lake. I will never forget our first time buying beer on our own at a bar and experiencing magnetic hill.

One of my fondest lifetime memories is getting to cross the border on our snowmobiles and go into town to dine here on Christmas Eve. We had poutine and for the holiday, a very special coffee spiked with Baileys. It’s such a charming little place with great food and friendly staff. I’d love to go back if ever in the area again.

Great food & hospitality! Owner is friendly, helpful. We stopped in on snowmobiles and were felt welcomed immediately. Delicious lunch, hot coffee and she dried our wet clothes before we going back out on the trail.

Best poutin in Quebec! Hand cut French fries and the cheese is always fresh. It's is also a small general store. Family owned and operated.
