Hamilton Municipal Parking System Office

If I could give lower than 1 star I would. I was talking to a representative and after I said and asked my question; she just hang up... lol i guess the question was too hard for her in the morning.

I am a worker at Hamilton general hospital who like many others find it difficult to find parking spaces near the hospital as I can not afford to park underground. It is hard enough as it is and now you have changed the signs along wellington street from barton to cannon that the new limit of NO parking is from 2-6. Many workers like myself work 7-3 and this is just brutal to do to us and the people who live around there. I work hard everyday to provide for my family and now I have to leave even earlier which gives me less time to ready my children in the morning and walking even further in an already scary barton neighbourhood as a woman this is terrifying in the dark. It seems the city does not care for it's working class because you do things like this and make it harder to get to and do our jobs.

Once upon a time, I used to work for By-Law issuing parking tickets. We had a fairly strict quota and were expected to get so many tickets out in a shift with zero discretion. It's not about safety or the public, Parking By-Laws are completely about revenue for the city and the Municipal Parking System employees perpetuating their jobs. Period! They are simply sharks swimming around victims looking for prey!

Recieved a ticket for parking where parking is allowed but they have a contradictory sign setting time of the month restrictions that is different on each side of the same road. It's clearly intended to confuse people and leave them vulnerable to more ticketing and ultimately more money to the city. I am new to the city and a student and tried to explain my situation and how it's a first time but they just sent me some BS copy and paste response. In their email it starts with they are sorry about tickets and how they tend to leave an undesirable impression. It sure does! The email from the city reinforces that negative impression of city of Hamilton bylaw ossifers. Don't bother contacting them because they will just insult you and treat you like a goat. Very carefully review every single sign before you park anywhere. Let's play the game one better than them and make them go out of business. We can do this! Pass it on! Every single parking ticket avoided now on is a win for us and a loss for them.

Their operator charged me twice same day same time. I had to contact and waste my time to refund my money back. Living in Toronto and had to handle this remotely with a lot of hassle. Luckily I kept the receipt.
