Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Centre

Excellent , informative museum thst has been well researched and 'put together' well worth the time to spend 3 or 4 hours to visit

Small-town museums are some of the best. There is a nice permanent display on the main floor, and a rotating exhibit on the Upper Floor. There are also multiple buildings outside that can be explored. Admission by donation. It's a lovely setting. Nice place for a picnic or to take a break.

We stopped here in the early morning to dine on a takeaway breakfast before the Visitor Centre was even open. It was lovely even while closed to enjoy the surrounding garden and exhibits.

A wonderful little museum packed full of history, information of the area. Well laid out with friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you want a place to take a group for a tour and then enjoy a little lunch, this is the place to go. Volunteers put on a lunch if you like, upon request. Funds raised will give ongoing support of this little gem. We don't think you will be disappointed. Not a long drive out of the city to a friendly town.
